Bulgarian wines with PGI and PDO took center stage this week at the Korea Wine & Spirits Fair 2024, held in Seoul. Presented as part of the EU-funded “Europe shares” project, Bulgarian producers highlighted the quality and heritage of their wines in partnership with Lithuania’s bio-product sector, showcasing a diverse range of authentic European goods.
The initiative, funded by the European Union, aims to promote high-quality European agricultural products in international markets. The Bulgarian wine collection at the fair featured premium selections known for their unique character, regional authenticity, and adherence to traditional winemaking standards safeguarded by the PGI and PDO certifications. These certifications help ensure that each bottle represents the unique terroirs and cultural heritage of Bulgaria’s wine-producing regions.
Joining the Bulgarian wineries, Lithuania’s bio-product producers presented organic and natural offerings, reinforcing the shared European emphasis on quality, sustainability, and regional identity. This collaboration at Korea Wine & Spirits 2024 demonstrated a strong commitment to introducing Korean consumers to premium European products, with an emphasis on tradition and innovation.
